Born and raised on the Canadian prairies, a love of the outdoors and enthusiasm for anything whimsical and serendipitous have lead me on some interesting paths.
A costume designer by profession; it was easy to flow into photography. Portraiture, nature and still-life are my favorites; and I am greatful to computer technology that affords me the chance to mix photography with digital art. The endless possibilties that a simple change of color or shape can have on an object leave me breathless...and also scrambling for extra time.
There is beauty and magic everywhere. Out camping in the Manitoba Interlake area, is my favorite summer pastime. A small scattering of mushrooms discovered during an ordinary afternoon walk, will suddenly have me crouching along the ground in search of a yet another perfect toadstool for my visual collection. Sunsets, cloud formations, beaches, old buildings, animals and insects, classic cars, colorful fishing lures, confections and anything girly-feminine - all favorite subjects of mine - and I like to see them together in various combinations.
Aside from several art and drawing classes, and mostly self-taught computer skills; I've been fortunate enough to have studied photography at RRCC and Commercial/Production Art at Winnipeg Technical Center.
